Missing Toes

MY STORY SO FAR…

Hello, I’m Mia.

I’m 45 years-old and currently living in Maryland. I have a beautiful daughter (Alhea) and am loving every second of my life. Everyday is beautiful to me. Beautiful, because I experienced something that changed my life a few years ago…

2007: A Year Of Tragedy

In 2007, on my way to work, I was struck by a train. Yes. A TRAIN. It was bad. The train was approaching the station when it happened.

It’s what you would see in the movies: a damsel in distress with her foot caught on the train tracks. It was terrifying. I actually don’t remember the train hitting me- I just felt a sharp push before everything turned black.

THE BAD NEWS

BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE ALL THE TIME. I UNDERSTAND THAT… BUT…

Sometimes… good things happen, too!

… You managed to survive being struck by a train with nothing more lost than a few pints of blood and a few of your toes- which the train likely severed through impact… You’ll have a few missing toes, but you’ll survive!”

LUCK? NO. DIVINE INTERVENTION? ABSOLUTELY!

Eight Years Later…

After taking some time to reflect… I realized a few things about life after the accident:

Our Lives Matter. And We Need To Make Them Count…

I made the pledge to share this message with the world. To make sure everyone understands how amazing life is and how, regardless of what happens, we can overcome.

WHAT’S NEXT? LET’S FIND OUT.
